The home is managed by Corvell Healthcare Limited whose aim is to provide the highest standards in care in the surroundings of unsurpassed quality. The emphasis is on the needs of the individual, in a caring and friendly environment.
Cavell Lodge is just a few miles from the "Golden Mile" front at Southend. It has private gardens specifically landscaped for the use of residents. It is easily accessible by local transport and is close to both shops and park lands.
Under the guidance of the Manager Michael Daley, our team of staff have been selected to ensure the best care is available 24 hours a day. We encourage our staff to practice and develop in care deliverance and by doing this we encourage ongoing training for continuous development and deliverance of good practice. We have team leaders who are level 3 trained in Health & Social Care, we have carers who are level 2 Health & Social Care trained and other care staff who are looking to progress on to NVQ's.
Our aims are to maximise our residents’ quality of life in their retirement years by enabling each resident to live according to his/her individual needs and wishes. We also aim to ensure that each of our resident’s independence, privacy and personal dignity are maintained and respected.
Cavell Lodge will provide a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with flexible routines and activities should residents wish to participate. All activities within the home will be chosen by the residents and include outings to places of interest, parties, music, theatre visits, shopping trips and crafts to name but a few.
Facilities include two spacious lounges, one on each floor both tastefully decorated and furnished. There is also a quiet room on the ground floor and a visitor lounge where residents can entertain their guests.
A spacious tastefully decorated dining room on the ground floor has patio doors leading to the gardens. It is just the place to enjoy the excellent choice of home cooked food. Special diets are catered for.
There is a choice of beautifully decorated single or double bedrooms, with en-suite facilities. Each room has a nurse call system, with telephone and television points. All residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and items such as pictures, ornaments or any other items that will make their room their home.
Also a lift to all floors, bathrooms with specialist bathing facilities and hairdressing salon are some of the features that have been incorporated to meet the needs of our residents. Cavell Lodge has an "open house" policy thus enabling residents to feel free to welcome their visitors as they would in their own home.
Residents are encouraged to continue to pursue hobbies outside the home maintaining links with relatives, friends and the general community. We will have regular visits from Ministers of all faiths. Hairdressing, chiropody and library services are available.
